Question 663958: hello
here is the problem...
Kameko currently subscribes to ace music,an online music service,but she is considering switching to another online service, orange tunes. the plan for each online music service is described below.
ACE Music
subscription fee $5/month $0.79 per song downloaded
Orange Tunes
subscription fee $10/month 40 downloads per month
Write an equation to represent the total monthly cost for each plan
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Ace Music
c = 5 + .79x, where x = number of downloads
...
Orange Tunes
c = 10
If they charge per song after the 40 downloads, then
c = 10 + xy, where y is charge per song and x is downloads greater than 40
...
You didn't ask but to figure out when Orange Tunes becomes the better deal,
set up the inequality
5 + .79x < 10
.79x < 10 - 5
.79x < 5
x < 6
Ace Music is the better deal when the number of downloads is less than 6,
so, 7 or more downloads and Orange Tues is a better deal
