Question 663826: My teacher gave us homework for tonight and I understand all but one question of it. Im not sure when a number is supposed to reject as well.
Solve for the value(s) of x that satisfy the equation |x - 3|= 2x-3.
thank you!!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
|x - 3|= 2x-3
Case 1:
x - 3 = 2x - 3
x = 0
============
Case 2:
-(x-3) = 2x - 3
3-x = 2x - 3
6 = 3x
x = 2

Solve for the value(s) of x that satisfy the equation |x - 3|= 2x-3
You must find solutions for 2 possibilities:
For (x-3)>0
x-3=2x-3
x≠2x
no solution
..
For (x-3)<0
-(x-3)=2x-3
-x+3=2x-3
3x=6
x=2
check:
|x - 3|= 2x-3
|2 - 3|= 2*2-3
|-1|= 4-3
1=1
solution: x=2
