You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Two cars leave the same location at the same time heading in opposite dielrections. The first car is traveling at the rate of 96mph with the second is traveling at the rate of 84mph. In how many hours will they be 500 miles apart?
**
let x=hours cars will be 500 miles apart
distance=travel time*speed
..
96x+84x=500
x≈2.78
hours cars will be 500 miles apart≈2.78
