Question 662803: I need help in geometry .I have a few problem I need to do for a work sheet .I.have a polygon
Of 3 sides .the top one since it a slanted triangle the top is 50 degrees then the bottom right is 56 degrees and the bottom left is 75+ x .and you have to solve for x .how do I do it to find the answer ?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
At least in the USA, a good dose of algebra gets injected into geometry.
That's why you'll keep seeing x here and there.

I assume your problem looks like this:
The geometry bit: The measures of the 3 angles of a triangle add up to 180%5Eo.
The algebra:
50%2B56%2B%2875%2Bx%29=180 --> 50%2B56%2B75%2Bx=180 --> 181%2Bx=180
Now we subtract 181 from both sides of the equal sign.
181%2Bx=180 --> 181%2Bx-181=180-181 --> highlight%28x=-1%29
That x was worth -1%5Eo, which added to 75%5Eo, made the third angle measure 74%5Eo.
(Strange problem. I did not expect a negative x, but negative numbers are OK with me).
