Question 662741: Just haven't Grasped it yet!
Assume that the population of heights of male college students is approximately normally distributed with mean of 73.16 inches and standard deviation of 6.39 inches. A random sample of 70 heights is obtained. SHOW all Work.
(A) Find the mean and standard error of the - distribution.
x
(B) Find P ( - >74.50)
x
I hope you understand that the x has that line above it.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assume that the population of heights of male college students is approximately normally distributed with mean of 73.16 inches and standard deviation of 6.39 inches.
A random sample of 70 heights is obtained. SHOW all Work.
(A) Find the mean and standard error of the x-bar distribution.
mean of sample means if n = 70: 73.16
std of sample means if n = 70: 6.39/sqrt(70)
--------------------------
(B) Find P (x-bar > 74.50)
z(74.5) = (74.5-73.16)/[6.39/sqrt(70)] = 1.7545
P(x-bar > 74.50) = P(z > 1.7545) = 0.0397
