Question 662597: solve the linear inequality.
4 - 5/9x > 6
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Add 5/9x to both sides
4 - 6 > 5/9x
Multiply both sides by 9/5
9/5(4-6) > x
9/5(-2) > x
-18/5 > x
-3 3/5 > x which is the same as x < -3 3/15
Alternatively,
4 - 5/9x > 6
-5/9x > 6 - 4
Multiply both sides by 9/5
-x > 2(9/5)
Divide both sides by -1 (note sign chance due to dividing by a negative)
x < -18/5 or x < - 3 3/5
