Question 662541: Could you please help me find the correct set up for this word problem involving systems of linear equations and inequalities in this word problem.
An apartment building has studio, one-bedroom, and two bedroom apartments. The building has a total of 60 apartments. There are half as many studio apartments as one- bedroom apartments in the building. The rent for a studio is $650, for a one bedroom is $875, and for a two bedroom is $1250. If all the apartments are occupied, the owner of the building collects $53,400 in rent per month. How many of each type of apartment are in the building?

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

------
Equations:
s + o + t = 60
-2s + o + 0 = 0
650s + 875o + 1250t = 53400
----------
I used a matrix function on my TI-84 to get the following:
s = 16 (# of studio apartments)
o = 32 (# of one-bedroom aparts)
t = 12 (# of two-bedroom aparts)
