| Question 662051:  Could someone please help me? I am in need of a lesson on how to tackle algebra 2 word problems, specifically inequality problems. I struggle with setting the problem up. Here's an example of a problem, which I have been struggling with;
 The telephone company offers two types of service. With plan A, you can make an unlimited number of local calls per month for $18.50. With plan B, you pay $6.50 monthly, plus 10 cents for each minute of calls after the first 40 min. At least how many min would you have to use the telephone each month to make plan A the better option

      (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! Plan A: 18.50 Plan B: 6.50 + .1(x)
 where x is minutes after 40 minutes
 18.50 < 6.50 + .1x
 18.50 < 6.50 = .1x
 12 < .1x
 x > 120
 The plans are equal when x in plan B is 120, which means the user has used 120 minues above the alloted 40 minutes.
 So A < B when x > 120
