%28a%2B3%29%2F2%2B%282a%2B12%29%2F3=a-2%28a%2B7%29  |Multiplying thru by 6 so as all denominators = 1

3%28a%2B3%29%2B2%282a%2B12%29=6a-12%28a%2B7%29

   3a + 9 + 4a + 24 = 6a - 12a - 84  || Combining Like Terms

            33 + 84 = -13a

                 117 = -13a

                 -9 = a
