Question 658080: I have a unit circle with a 210 deg angle. I have gotten a cos of -sqrt3/2 and a sin of -1/2, but I am having issues in determining the tangent,cotangent, secant, and cosecant of this angle.
my book has the cosec as sqrt3/3, but I don't see where that came from, and unfortunately, my book has no example of working it out on angles in the 3rd quadrant :(
Can you show me the steps to get these other formulas?

You can put this solution on YOUR website! I have a unit circle with a 210 deg angle. I have gotten a cos of -sqrt3/2 and a sin of -1/2, but I am having issues in determining the tangent,cotangent, secant, and cosecant of this angle.
**
you are working with a reference angle of 30º in quadrant III
sin30º=-1/2 (given)
cos30º=-√3/2 (given)
tan30º=sin/cos=-1/-√3=√3/3
csc30º=-2 (reciprocal of sin)
sec30º=-2/√3=-2√3/3=(reciprocal of cos)
cot30º=√3 (reciprocal of tan)
