Let Width of rectangle is W and Length is L so
W = (L/3) + 1
which is same as 3W = L + 3
=>> 3W - L = 1 say it is equation 1.
The perimeter of the rectangle is 74 feet so
2W + 2L = 74 OR
W+L = 37 say it is equation 2
solving equation 1 and 2 will give us
W = 10 and L = 27
Area of retangle is W*L = 270 square feet
