Question 657895: A contractor engages 16 men to build a wall 80 metres long and estimated that they will do the work in 10 day. After they have worked for 8 days at this rate, he is told that the wall must be made 10 metres longer than originally planned. How many more men must be engaged to complete the work within the agreed time? Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source):
Hi,
16 men to build a wall 80 metres long in 10days ⇒ 8m/day 0r 64m in 8days
80-64 = 16, 16+10 = 26m must be built in 2 days.
@man can build 1/2m per day or 1m in 2 days.
Would take 26 men working 2 days for the 26m needed. more men must be engaged to complete the work within the agreed time
