Age of Jose,y = 4x- 3 .......(1)
Sum of the ages= 37
x+y = 37 .......(2)
Substitute the value of y in equation 2
x+ 4x-3 = 37
5x-3 = 37
5x = 37+3
5x = 40
x = 40/5
x = 8
Age of daughter is 8 years
y= 4x-3
y= 4*8-3
y= 32-3
y= 29
Age of Jose =29 years
