Question 657185: As an adult learner in my 40's I never learned mathematics due to what now has been diagnosed
As Dyscalculia and Irlen Syndrome. (without my special lenses the words/numbers move all over the Page. Looks like rivers of numbers. I am trying to teach myself mathematics can you help me with this problem? A car traveling at 50 miles an hour for 2.5 hours. How far did it go?
I am believing one would take the miles traveled (50) and multiply that by the the hours traveled (2.5). With that said, I think this is too easy an explanation. It is my fervent endeavor before I leave this earth to learn the highest math I can. Thank you very much, E L. Davis Answer by ankor@dixie-net.com(22740) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! That's all it is: 2.5 * 50 = 125 mi
:
Here's three simple formulas you should memorize to deal with these kind of problems
where
d = distance
s = speed, some use r here for rate
t = time, has to be in the same units as the speed, hrs if using mph
:
d = speed * time, how far, like your problem
:
t = , how long did it take?
:
s = , how fast did you go?
