Question 656157: My Husband is stuyding for to take the GED. He has the following problem:
Susan has to be to work at 7am. She needs 45 minutes to get ready and 35 minutes to travel to work. What is the latest time she can sleep until?
The Instructor wants to see a steps leading to the answer. My Husband is under the impression the answer should not be in hours and minutes. With the way question is written I can't think of another alternative.
Can you please help. Thank you.

 45 minute for getting ready
+35 minutes to travel:
----------------------------
 80 minutes before 7AM



 7:00AM = 6:60AM = 5:120AM
- :80    - :80    - : 80
--------------------------
                   5: 40AM = the latest time she can sleep until

Notice that we had to write 7:00AM as 6:60AM and again as 5:120AM
so that 80 minutes could be subtracted from the minutes.
