You can put this solution on YOUR website! D=rt where D is distance, r is rate and t is time. They're walking in opposite directions, so add their rate (4+6 = 10). The wanted D=5 and t is unknown.
5 = 10t solve for t by dividing both times by 10 5/10 = t = .5 hours = 30 minutes. They started at 5, so they are 5 miles apart at 5:30.
