Question 654472: Okay I am working in Geometry and am slightly confused the question is. Two supplementary angles are in a ratio of 1:8. Find the measures of the two angles... the equation is x+8x=180 and i worked it out as if i was solving for x but since i needed two angles i divided the final answer in half which of course left me with the angles equaling 10 but it didn't seem right to me. I am a bit lost on how to do this. Please do explain and help as must as you can.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Solve for x

x+8x=180

9x=180

x = 180/9

x = 20

So x = 20 and 8x = 8*20 = 160

So the two angles are 20 and 160 degrees.
