Let the older brother's age be E
Then younger brother is E – 7 years-old
Also, E = 2(E – 7)
E = 2E – 14
E – 2E = - 14
- E = - 14
E, or age of older boy = %28-+14%29%2F-+1, or highlight_green%2814%29 years

Younger brother is: 14 - 7, or highlight_green%287%29 years-old

You need to be adept at forming the equation from the word problem that’s presented. If you understand what the word problem is saying, and what it’s asking, then you should be able to formulate the equation and solve.
