You can put this solution on YOUR website!
See how 2.7 is being added to both sides? This will make this equation false. For example:
5x + 15 = 3x + 15
5x = 3x (subtracted 15 from both sides)
This is an impossible statement. We can't multiply the same number (x) by 5 and by 3 and have the results be equal to each other.

So the answer to your equation -4.0x + 2.7 - 1.6x = -4.6x + 2.7 is NO SOLUTION.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

-4.0x+%2B+2.7+-+1.6x+=+-4.6x+%2B+2.7......first add terms that contain x on the left side
%28%28-4.0x%29%2B%28+-+1.6x%29%29+%2B+2.7=+-4.6x+%2B+2.7
-5.6x+%2B+2.7=+-4.6x+%2B+2.7...now cancel 2.7 on both sides
-5.6x+%2Bcross%28+2.7%29=+-4.6x+%2B+cross%282.7%29
-5.6x+=+-4.6x+..now add 4.6x to the both sides
-5.6x+%2B+4.6x=+-4.6x%2B4.6x+

-x=+0+.....now multiply both sides by -1
-x%2A%28-1%29=+0%2A%28-1%29+
highlight%28x=0%29
