is 20 less then half the supplement of angle a.highlight%28180-a%29

Question states***

highlight%2890-a%29+=%28highlight%28180-a%29%29%2F2+-+20  |Multiplying thru by 2 so as all denominators = 1

 180 - 2a = 180 - a - 40

    40° = a

and...

50+=+140%2F2+-+20+=+70-20+=+50

ANGLE B=X/2-20
A+B=90
X+(X/2-20)=90
X+X/2-20=90
(2X+X)/2=90+20
3X/2=110
3X=2*110
3X=220
X=220/3
X=73.33 ANS. FOR THE LARGER ANGLE.
73.33+73.33/2-20=90
73.33+36.67-20=90
73.33+16.67=90
90=90
