Perimeter is the sum of all sides. Rectangles are special in that they have 2 pairs of same-length sides, so Perimeter = height+height+length+length, or P = 2H + 2L.
If the rectangle's height is 6, then the other height is 6 (sum = 12). The entire perimeter is 44, so we need to find 44 - 12, or 32 entra inches. These 32 inches will be split up between the two lengths, so each length is 23/2, or 16 inches.
16+16+6+6 = 44!
