Question 65128: My daughter's teacher gave her class the following and told them to create an equation that solves for "y".
The numbers are on a T Graph. When X=1 Y=13. When x=2 y=22. When x=3 y=35. When x=4 y=44. I came up with y=9x+4 however, it doesn't work all the way through. Namely it works for the first and second sets of variable but not the third and fourth sets. Can you give us any clues? Answer by 303795(602) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I'd be inclined to recheck the data.
y=9x+4 works for the first two and y=9x+8 works on the last two.
y=x^2+6x+6 works on the first three and would work on the last one if it was 46 rather than 44.
Either there is an error in the data or you don't have enough data for a more complex equation.
