You can put this solution on YOUR website!
4x^2+17x-17=0
Multiply 4·17 = 68
The ways to factor 68 using two factors are
68·1
34·2
17·4
Since the sign of the last term is -, subtract them:
68-1 = 67
34-2 = 33
17-4 = 13
None of those 67, 33 , or 13 are the same as the middle
term of its negative, so it doesn't factor. However
you can use the quadratic formula to solve it:
x+=+%28-b+%2B-+sqrt%28+b%5E2-4%2Aa%2Ac+%29%29%2F%282%2Aa%29+
with a=4, b=17, c=-17
