Question 651008: I really need help understanding and linear equations such as ex.) -8<2/3x-4<10 or -7<6x-1<5 and when you graph them on a number line does it matter exactly what numbers you use, like whether u do 2,4,6,8 etc. or 1,2,3,4 etc? i would greatly appreciate it and im in Algebra 2 in the 11th grade

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
-8<2/3x-4<10
add 4 to each term
-4<2/3x<14
multiply by 3
-12<2x<42
divide by 2
-6 < x < 21
number line:
<.....-6<===>21...........>
solution: (-6,21)
..
-7<6x-1<5
add 1 to each term
-6<6x<6
divide by 6
-1 < x < 1
number line:
<.....-1<===>1...........>
solution: (-1,1)
