     3x = 4(x+2)

      3x = 4x + 8

      -8 = x

Hint:

(2)^3x = (16)^x+2

(2)^3x = (2^4)^x+2

(2)^3x = 2^(4(x+2)

Since the bases are equal (to 2), the exponents must be equal, so..

3x = 4(x+2)
