QUESTION:
Solve (-x + 2 / 3) - (2x + 5 / 4) = 5
ANSWER:
(-x + 2 / 3) - (2x + 5 / 4) = 5
Remove parenthesis,
-x + 2/3 - 2x - 5/4 = 5
Collect x terms together
-x -2x +2/3 - 5/4 =5
==> (-x -2x )+ (2/3 - 5/4) =5
==> -3x + (2*4 - 5*3)/12 = 5
==> -3x + (8 - 15 )/12 = 5
==> -3x -7/12 = 5
==> -3x = 5 +7/12
==> -3x = (5*12+7)/12
==> -3x = ( 60 +7)/12
==> -3x = 67/12
==> x = -67/(3*12)
==> x = -67/36
Solution is
x = -67/36
