You can put this solution on YOUR website!
If Steven can mix 20 drinks in 5 minutes, Sue can mix 20 drinks in 10 min, and Jack can mix 20 drinks in 15 min, how much time will it take all 3 of them working together to mix the 20 drinks?
---------------------------------
Sue DATA:
Rate = 20 drinks/10 min
---------
Jack DATA;
Rate = 20 drinks/15 min
---------
Steven DATA:
Rate= 20 drinks/5 min
-------------------
Let "x" be the number of minutes need for the three to mix 20 drinks:
EQUATION:
x(Sue Rate + Jack Rate + Steven Rate) = 20 drinks
x min(20d/10min + 20d/15min +20d/5min)= 20d
x(2+(4/3)+4)=20
x(22/3)=20
x=60/22
x=30/11
x=2 8/11 minutes or x=2.7272... minutes
