Question 646498: Hello professor. I'm having a real difficult time with this problem. My worksheet just says solve. I'm assuming its an equatic eq or completing the square. This is the problem.
3/3x-1/x+1=1
and my choices are, A.0 B. -1+the squareroot of 5 over 2 C. -3+sq root of 5 over 2 or D. 1+sq of 5 over 2.
And my worksheet says solve the equation. So I think it's a quadratic eq but I dont know what to do since there's fractions. Thank you for your help!

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3/3x - 1/(x+1) = 1
and my choices are, A.0 B. -1+the squareroot of 5 over 2 C. -3+sq root of 5 over 2 or D. 1+sq of 5 over 2.
-----
I give up.
3/3x-1/x+1=1
-----
I cannot tell where the 1st term ends.
Is it 3/(3x-1) ?
---
or
3/(3x-1)/(x+1) ?
----
or
something else ?
-------
Use parentheses to make your problem clear to the reader.
