You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Assume the problem is:
1%2F4x + 1%2F6 = 1%2F3(x-4)
get rid of the denominators, least common multiple is 12, mult by 12
12*1%2F4x + 12*1%2F6 = 12*1%2F3(x-4)
cancel out the denominators and you have
3x + 2 = 4(x-4)
3x + 2 = 4x - 16
2 + 16 = 4x - 3x
18 = x
