Question 645731: My son is new to algebra and I am very old to it. We need to be able to simplify each product and show our work. If you could give us the correct process it would help. I remember having to multiply but confused as to what to do with the exponets. Here is the problem: (6x^2)(4x^2y^3)

Thanks for your help

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(6x^2)(4x^2y^3)
group like-terms:
(6*4)(x^2*x^2)y^3)
24(x^2*x^2)y^3)
24(x^(2+2))y^3) (exponents add)
24x^4y^3
