Question 644996: Problem: "Using the numbers 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, and 4, once each. Find the smallest (positive) difference."
Through the guess and check method, I've tried every single combination possible. I even made a list of all the possible combinations and haven't found a solution. The answer to the problem (according to the textbook) is 47. The smallest I've found is 53 using 748-695.
Thanks!

Through the guess and check method, I've tried every single combination possible. I even made a list of all the possible combinations and haven't found a solution. The answer to the problem (according to the textbook) is 47. The smallest I've found is 53 using 748-695.
------------
745 - 698 = 47
