x^2-3x+7 + 3x^2+5x-9

(x^2+3x^2)+(-3x+5x)+(7-9)

(4x^2)+(2x)+(-2)

4x^2+2x-2

So x^2-3x+7 + 3x^2+5x-9 simplifies to 4x^2+2x-2
