Question 643823: i have to write an expression in simplest form for the perimeter of a rectangle. the length is 2w and the width is w. i ended up with an answer of 2w(squared)+ 4, but on this website it says that i'm wrong. help? You can put this solution on YOUR website! Start with the formula for the perimeter of a rectangle:
P = 2(L+W) Now substitute L = 2W.
p = 2(2W+W) Simplify.
p = 2(3W) Finally:
p = 6W

----------------
Perimeter = 2(length + width)
-----
P = 2(2w + w)
P = 2(3w)
Perimeter = 6w
