3x^5+4x^2-12x-17 over x-2

I know the setup is -2.. the setup for synthetic that I got was 3...0....0...4...12...17 but when I add them the numbers get huge and I wound up with -135 over x-2 I do not know if this is right and can someone please help me and show me the work if I am wrong so I know what I am doing wrong.... thank you.

:
Which would be: 3x^4 + 6x^3 + 12x^2 + 28x + 44 remainder +71/(x-2)
