You can put this solution on YOUR website!

I presume you are talking about -intercepts when you say vertical and -intercepts when you say horizontal. -intercepts is(are) the point(s) where a graph intersect(s) the -axis. -intercepts of the graphs of functions are ordered pairs that always have the form . -intercepts is(are) the point(s) where a graph intersect(s) the -axis and are ordered pairs that always have the form where all are contained in the set of zeros of the function.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The x-intercept occurs where +y+=+0+
The y-intercept occurs where +x+=+0+
--------------------------------
There can be more than one x-intercept,
but there can be only one y-intercept
-------------------------------
Suppose you have the equation +y+=+x%5E2+-+4+
To find the x-intercept(s),
+0+=+x%5E2+-+4+
+x%5E2+=+4+
+x+=+2+
+x+=+-2+
----------
And, to find the y-intercept,
+y+=+0%5E2+-+4+
+y+=+-4+
----------
Here's the plot:
