smaller share = 9x
larger share = 11x

The smaller share is divided equally among Aimee, Bonnie and Christie.
Each has (9x)/3 = 3x
-------------------------
The larger share is divided among Dolly, Ernie and Felly, such that Dolly gets twice as Aimee's share, Ernie get 25% less than Dolly's share and Felly gets $56 less than Ernie's share.
Aimee gets "3x"
Then Dolly get "6x"
Ernie gets (3/4)(6x) = (9/2)x
Felly gets (9/2)x) - 56

Equation:
11x = 3x + 6x + (9/2)x + (9/2)x-56
11x = 18x-56
7x = 56
x = 8
