The graph of a linear equation is a straight line.
To locate that straight line you just need two points.
To find a point, you give a value to one of the variables (x or y),
and solve the equation to find the corresponding value for the other variable.
You can chose any value, for any variable, but a smart choice makes the calculations and the graphing easy.
For values, zero is often a good choice.
For x=0, the equation is 0-y=2 --> -y=2 --> highlight%28y=-2%29
That gives you the point (0,-2).
For y=0, the equation is x-0=2 --> highlight%28x=2%29
That gives you the point (2,0).
Plotting those two points, and connecting them with a line gives you the graph.
