You can put this solution on YOUR website! QUESTION:
Solve for x: log(4x + 8) - log 2=1
ANSWER:
Use law of logarithm,
log A - logB = log(a/B)
Also here we can take,
1= log 10, because, value of log 10 to the base10 is 1
so, log(4x + 8) - log 2=1
==> log(4x + 8) - log 2=log 10
==> log{(4x + 8)/2 }= log 10
Both side we have logarithm, so,
==> 4x + 8)/2 = 10
==> 4x + 8 = 10 * 2
==> 4x + 8 = 20
==> 4x = 20 - 8
==> 4x = 12
==> x = 12/4
==> x = 3
Hope you understood.
