Hi,
The idea is... to isolate the radical term on one side of the EQ
and then square both sides of the EQuation
2sqrt%28x%2B4%29+=+x%2B1
4(x+4) = x^2 + 2x + 1
4x + 4 = x^2 + 2x + 1
x^2 - 2x -3 = 0
(x-3)(x+1) = 0
x = 3 0r x = -1
