(a)    P(A ⋂ B) = P(A)×P(B) = (0.3)(0.55) = 0.165

(b)    P(A ⋃ B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A ⋂ B) = 0.3 + 0.55 - 0.165 = 0.385
