2.Find the slope-intercept form of the the line passing through the point (2,–5)and parallel to the line y = - 2x +1
ans 1:
the line is perpendicular to 2x-3y=3 or y=(2/3)x-1 with slope =2/3
so the required slope of the line=-3/2
& passes through (-2,-3)
so the eqn is [y-(-3)]/[x-(-2)]=-3/2
or 2y+6=-3x-6
or 2y=-3x-12 ans
ans 2:
the line is parallel to the line y = - 2x +1 with slope =-2
so the required slope of the line=-2
& passes through (2,-5)
so the eqn is [y-2]/[x-(-5)]=-2
or y-2=-2x-10
or y=-2x-8 ans
