: Multiply:
(√[3] + 4√[5])(2√[3] – √[5])
Can you please assit me in answering this problem. I tried working ot out but it seems to be getting more confusing. I tried using the foil method was I right to start there? But I got lost in the process of figuring this out. If possible can you show the steps in order to complete.

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
(√[3] + 4√[5]) * (2√[3] – √[5])
Use FOIL:
F: (sqrt3)(2sqrt3)=6
O: (sqrt3)(-sqrt5)=-sqrt15
I: (4sqrt5)(2sqrt3)=8sqrt15
L: (4sqrt5)(-sqrt5)=-20
------------
Add them up to get:
-14+7sqrt15
----------
