500T=600(T-2.5)
500T=600T-1500
-100T=-1500
T=-1500/-100
T=15 HOURS AFTER THE FIRST PLANE LEAVES THE SECOND PLANE WILL CATCH IT.
PROOF
500*15=600(15-2.5)
7500=600*12.5
7500=7500

Airplane 2 will travel in the air 30 minutes behind airplane 1, ALWAYS. It will take 3 hours until airplane 2 catches up to airplane 1. After 3 hours and 30 mintues, airplane 1 will travel 1750 miles while after 3 hours in the air, airplane 2 will travel 1800 miles.
