Question 633451: Find the slope and the y-intercept of the line with equation 8x + 9y = 73. Found 2 solutions by ewatrrr, MathLover1:Answer by ewatrrr(24785) (Show Source):
Hi,
Using the standard slope-intercept form for an equation of a line y = mx + b
where m is the slope and b the y-intercept.
8x + 9y = 73 OR
m = -8/9 and b = 73/9
You can put this solution on YOUR website! I think the most useful form of straight-line equations is the "slope-intercept" form:
...This is called the slope-intercept form because "m" is the slope and "b" gives the y-intercept.
so, you will have:
the slope
and for ....so, the y-intercept point is (,)
