Four years ago, Kiro was 6 times as old as Kirara. Four years from now, he will only be twice as old. How old are Kirara and Kiro.
**
let x=Kiro's age
let y=Kirara's age
..
4 years ago:
x-4=kiro's age
y-4=Kirara's age
Kiro was 6 times as old as Kirara
(x-4)=6(y-4)=6y-24
x-4=6y-24
6y-x=20
..
4 years from now:
x+4=kiro's age
y+4=Kirara's age
Kiro will be twice as old as Kirara
(x+4)=2(y+4)=2y+8
x+4=2y+8
2y-x=-4
..
6y-x=20
2y-x=-4
subtract
4y=24
y=6
x=2y+4=16
..
Kiro's age=16
Kirara's age=6
