Question 63277: Could someone please help me with this.
A right triangle is a triangle with one angle measuring 90°. In a right triangle, the sides are related by Pythagorean Theorem, where c is the hypotenuse (the side opposite the 90° angle). Find the hypotenuse when the other 2 sides’ measurements are 3 feet and 4 feet. Found 2 solutions by stanbon, jai_kos:Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! In a rigth angled triangle,
(hypotenuse)^2 = sum of the squares of the sides
(hypotenuse)^2 = 3^2 + 4^2
hypotenuse^2 = 9 + 16
hypotenuse ^2 = 25
Taking the square root , we get
hypotenuse = sqrt(25)
hypotenuse = 5
