What will the population of the United States be in 2025?
This problem has me very scared of Algebra 1B. I hope that someone can help me better understand this problem, because as of now, I am lost. Please help me.

The rule relating the year and the population is
P(in millions) = 250 x 2^(y - 1990)/66
To find the population in the year 2025 substitute y=2025 in the formula above.
P(in millions) = 250 x 2^(2025 - 1990)/66
P(in millions) = 250 x 2^(35/66)
Type this into your calculator to get an answer of 361.
So the population in 2025 should be 361 million people.
