2. +x+=2y-1+
plug 2 into 1
+2y-1%2B2y=-5+
combine like terms
+4y+-1+=+-5+
add 1 to both sides
+4y+=+-4+
divide by 4
+x+=+-1+

Substitute this back into equation 1
+-1+%2B+2y+=+-5
add 1 to both sides
+2y+=+-4+
divide by 2
+y+=+-2+

SOLUTION : ( -1 , -2 )
