You can put this solution on YOUR website! LET f(x)=x^3-8x^2+17x-9. USE THE FACTOR THEOREM TO FIND OTHER SOLUTIONS TO f(x)-f(1)=0,BESIDES x=1.
 ----------
 f(1)=1-8+17-9=1
 f(x)-1=x^3-8x^2+17x-10
 Find the zeroes of this:
Using synthetic division find the zeroes:
 1).....1....-8....17....-10
 .......1....-7....10..|.0
 ---------------
 Then:
 2).....1....-7....10
 .......1....-5..|.0
 -----------
 And finally:
 5).....1....-5
 .......1...|.0
 -----------------
 The zeroes are 1,2,5
The factors are (x-1),(x-2), and (x-5)
