You can put this solution on YOUR website! Rearrange to get one side equal to zero.
2a^2 + 1= -3a
Add 3a to each side
2a^2 + 1 + 3a = -3a + 3a
2a^2 + 3a + 1 = 0
Factorise the equation to get
(2a + 1)(a + 1) = 0
So either (2a + 1) = 0 or (a + 1) = 0
Case 1
2a + 1 = 0
2a = -1
a = -1/2
Case 2
a + 1 = 0
a = -1
So a is either -1 or -0.5
I have no idea what the P part of your problem has to do with this solution.
